About Us:

Today, Oak Park's Library is more than a collection of books, periodicals, audio and video tapes for the public to borrow. It has also developed into the community’s center for cultural events ranging from concerts and art exhibits to special children’s events. Moreover, today’s patrons also have computer access to the holdings of more than 50 other area libraries.

The Library organizes various special programs for its patrons:

  • Story Time for children 2–6 years–olds
  • Summer Reading Program for school-age children
  • Teen Summer Reading Club
  • Exhibits
  • Concerts
  • Lectures
  • Poetry Sessions
  • Family Movie Nights

The Library houses more than 2,000 Russian language books. It is a member of The Library Network, a consortium of 65 members libraries located in Wayne, Oakland, Livingston and Washtenaw Counties. The Library has a free Wi-Fi Internet access.
